ResultFlow is "big software", so there is a lot to explain, but you don't ever need to understand it all to make money using it!  I recommend you read just enough of the documentation to get started.  Then, feel free to come back here at your own paceto learn specific techniques or skills or to satisfy your curiosity or to deepen your learning.

The Big Idea(s) of ResultFlow

The User Interface

When you first login to your copy of ResultFlow, you will shown your "Home Page".  From here, most importantly, you access your Profile and your Personas.  The first step in getting started with ResultFlow is to select and import a Persona Template for the business/site you'd like to promote.

Personas

You can think of a "Persona" is a marketing project.  You can create these from scratch, but that's a lot of work, so instead we've created several Persona Templates that you can select from.  These templates contain our prebuilt and proven workflows will satisfy most of your needs without modification.  Your best bet is start with one of our templates and modify it only after you're up and running.

Within each Persona, there are one or more complete Content Marketing workflows.  There is a common structure to these we'll discuss next.

Feeds

Much of what ResultFlow does is to consume and transform content.  Feed Folders are the container where external content is brought into your Persona.  The most common type is RSS, but Feedbin and Pinboard are options as well.  These Feeds can come from your own websites or others.  A very common use is to read in the RSS feed of a site related to your market and run selected items through our Content On Demad™ (COD) service to create a unique curated item for your blog or social media.

Credentials

One of the single most important purposes of ResultFlow is automated the posting and promotion of content to your blog and social media properties.  To do this, ResultFlow must be authorized (by you!) to publish to these platforms.  In ResultFlow we call these interfaces "Credentials" and there is one Credential type for every platform we support.  The most common are Wordpress, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn, but others include FacebookGroups, Drupal, and Dlvr.it.

Venues

Once ResultFlow is authorized to use a given social platform, then one or more Venues is used to represent specific destinations or content streams on the platform.  For example: different categories on your blog; different pages on Facebook; and even different audiences use Facebook paid promotion.  Each Venue is configured so that whenever you move a document into the Venue, ResultFlow automatically publishes that document to the external platform according to the parameters you've given that Venue.  In the case of a Wordpress blog, this will include categories and tags, whereas for Facebook, you will have set which Facebook page to use.

Workflows: Tasks and Rules

Within a ResultFlow Persona, there are "Workflow Rules" to transform or create content and rules to Schedule operations on that content.  For example, a workflow might take a document from a Feed, transform it into a Link Quote, Schedule it for 9am tomorrow morning, and at that time post and promote it to your Facebook top-of-funnel audience.  As documents move their way through the Persona, the workflow rules create "Workflow Tasks" on each document.  The Tasks are the things that actually "do the work."  In some cases you might want a manual task, carried out by you, an employee, or a VA, so ResultFlow allows for such manual tasks as well as numerous types automated tasks that we just handle for you.

Putting it All Together

There are several more advanced parts, but that is the essence of ResultFlow: content comes into Feeds, is processed via Workflows, and gets posted to Venues using Credentials you have already authorized.  If you're already familiar with simple tools like  IFTTT or Zapier, then think of the ResultFlow workflow engine as like that plus a whole lot of steroids!  Then, on top of that, ResultFlow also provides the actual content marketing functions, resulting in one integrated system to automate online content marketing for small business.
