As you continue to improve your marketing and begin sending visitors to your blog, have you thought about what they’ll do next? Do you have CTAs (Call to Action) banners or opt-in forms to help continue your visitors through the funnel.

In our demonstration blog here – we use CTAs as a banner in the header, on the right hand rail, and after the post.

If you’re using the Genesis Theme the optimal sizes are:

  • 600 x 90 Header Banner
  • 319 x 350 Right Rail
  • 600 x 300 AfterPost

But you can consult your own theme settings to find out what works best for you.

To improve your tracking we recommend adding UTM codes to the URL you link to, so you can track traffic that moves from your blog into your main site.

You can learn more about campaign parameters here.  And when you’re ready – you can use Google’s handy campaign utm link builder tool to get the complete URL for your CTA click.   Below is a sample URL that we use.

We use Blog as the Campaign Name, and then use medium as the ad location, and finally  source as simply CTA.  You can adjust those to suit your needs, keeping in mind that a consistent Campaign Name will help improve tracking in Google Analytics.

If you have multiple CTAs then AdRotate is an excellent plug in to help manage your assets and scheduling.

To add visitors to a list or have them OPT-IN for a CTA we recommend OptinMonster  – you can collect email and deliver campaigns with their easy setup slide up or pop over opt-in banners. Their features allow you to connect with multiple CRM choices including InfusionSoft.
